Will it suit me?

Are you interested in why people commit crime and exploring different types of crime? Are you curious about why some crimes are unreported or in how the media portray crime? Are you interested in how the criminal justice system works and crime policy? Do you enjoy listening to, discussing and debating different viewpoints? If so then criminology will suit you.

Strong written skills are required for both the controlled assessments and external examinations. Exam questions will include both short and extended answer questions based on stimulus material with an applied problem-solving scenario. The controlled assessment requires you to respond to a brief with an applied purpose by producing written and other evidence. All units require you to select and apply relevant learning to work-related purposeful tasks. You will therefore be expected to develop interpretation, application and evaluation skills throughout the course.
